Dino Pocket Pet v3

The 1.85" round screen at its real 360 × 360 pixels. Drag on the screen like a finger, or use the buttons under it.

On the pet: swipe up for actions, swipe down for apps. In an app: swipe right to go back. Leave it alone and it dims.

What's new in v3

  • Red dino is now the default.
  • App ring: swipe down on the pet for Clock, Music, Talk, Light, Stats and Settings.
  • Clock with an alarm. Tap Test alarm to see the dino wake you up.
  • Music plays MP3s from the SD card while the dino dances. The track names here are examples.
  • Talk is the Phase 3 preview. Set WiFi to "At home", then hold the mic.
  • Nightlight fills the screen with a colour, with brightness and a sleep timer.
  • Care actions still slide up from the pet. Sleep replaced Light in the "more" menu.

About "Hi D"

The offline wake word has to be one of Espressif's ready-made models, and a custom one needs Espressif to train it. Two syllables is also too short to be reliable. "Hi Andy" sounds closest, so the dino could be called Andy, or D for short. Tap the wake word row in Settings to cycle through the options.

The dino is drawn by code on a 40 × 40 pixel grid, scaled up 4×. The board will use the same drawing. On the real board this circle is about 47 mm across.
